Traffic charges?

  • Wouldn't running an open wifi service, while insulating you from DE Act issues if the loophole theory is correct, mean that anybody in the vicinity could use your wireless connection and run up large traffic volumes? Wouldn't this cost you a lot? (Or is traffic volume unlimited for a fixed price with UK ISPs--not the case in Australia?) -- Jimrhiz 07:51, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
  • Most UK ISPs tend to offer an "unlimited" data package but many have a fair-use policy that introduces penalties (traffic shaping, disconnection) if you shift too much data (but the amount varies, as does the enforcement), however a few are truly unlimited. 94.15.12.5 08:05, 28 April 2010 (UTC) (oops, it was Glenn 11:32, 28 April 2010 (UTC))
