To date, there have been no reported disconnections under the powers of the bill.

Nor should there be until April 2011 at the earliest. Even then, disconnections will only occur after:

• the technical measures available have been investigated by parliamentary committee as part of the Super-Affirmative Action
• you have received at least 3 warning letters

Section 13 of the act does outline there is also to be an appeals process the subscriber can go through.

It should also be noted that UK ISP Talk Talk have said they would meet copyright holders in court before they disconnect anyone[1].

It is unclear at this stage whether upon disconnection you can simply just sign up with a different ISP.
